Back to the Basics: Banana Bread

Writer: The Food SighterThe Food Sighter

It’s been a while since I’ve had time to update my blog and Instagram! I started a new job earlier this year but no worries – I’ve still had plenty of time to travel. Since February, I’ve stopped by Sanibel Island, FL, ate my weight in butter and seafood while visiting New Orleans, hit the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky, celebrated the Fourth of July in Gatlinburg and closed out my summer with a quick trip across the pond to Paris! So now, I have some catching up to do.

Earlier this spring I posted about a banana bread recipe I was trying out for the first time and many of you showed interest in making a loaf. There’s only seven ingredients and the recipe is perfect for those browning bananas sitting on your counter. Recipe and instructions are outlined below:

INGREDIENTS

2 mashed bananas

1 stick room temp. butter (or margarine)

1 cup sugar

½ teaspoon baking soda

2 cups flour

½ cup cold water

1 egg

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix all ingredients together. Add ½ nuts if desired. Bake in a greased loaf pan at 350° for one hour.

That’s it! The recipe is so easy and the bread comes out perfect every time (well, that’s unless you forget the baking soda).

Until Next Time,

Kristen
